Active thinking

Gwyneth Igoe works during the day as a teacher in an international school in Tervuren, while her evening activities include singing in The Parent’s Choir in Wezembeek-Oppem and taking Dutch lessons in Kraainem.

When she arrived in Belgium, she found it a bit of a challenge as a British person to drive on the right side of the road. ‘Yes, there were a lot of things I had to get used to, but adapting to the delicious Belgian cuisine didn’t take any effort at all’. She also thinks that our over-reliance on all kinds of technology has tended to make us more passive thinkers. ‘The need to keep on thinking critically and actively is going to be a bit of an obsession for me in the coming years.’
