In the coming months we will be giving people who live in Rand the opportunity to ex-press their opinions. People from different backgrounds, in the hope of being able to present a broad and varied picture of how the region will be within 10 years.
‘I hope that a fixed and clear language status will provide us with the self-confidence to be open-minded and less defensive. I hope we can develop a sustainable policy for the Rand and a suitable budget is earmarked for this purpose. Some of the strategies rolled out for Dutch-speaking Brussels might also be applicable to us.’ This is the dream of Jan De Craen from Dilbeek. What do you think the Flemish Rand should look like, ideally, in 10 or 20 years time?
