All it takes is one - the right book in the right place and away you go. Boredom is a thing of past now that you have stories at your fingertips. Journeys to embark upon in your imagination. Hugo and his daughter Sigrid Bousset both lead literature-saturated lives.
They were both infected as children with a chronic form of the reading bug and have never managed to shake it off. ‘We were eager to share our enthusiasm for literature.’ Hugo did so as a professor of Dutch literature and the general editor of the oldest Flemish magazine DW B. Sigrid was the head of the Passa Porta centre of literature. (RK, apr 2015)
